In our classes, you getthe support and understanding of a small group of students and instructors whounderstand what it takes to overcome your fear of water. But the book allowsyou to go at your own personal pace, consider the ideas, try them on, and putthem into practice on your own if youlike Do-It-Yourself. At our pool in Sarasota, Florida, you can do it yourself on your own or with others in two pools: a two-foot pool where you can learn to float by putting your hands on the bottom, and a regular pool, both kept warm. If you want more help, then sign up for a Miracle Swimmingclass or series nearest you. You will see everything fall into place. Promised!

Melon Dash grew up in upstate New York, but has always been a Californian at heart. She started swimming competitively when she was 7, started teaching swimming when she was 14, and has been doing both ever since. Her favorite toys are her Macintosh and her bike. She looks for a good pool to swim in, wherever she goes.

Awesome book that really helped me conquer my fear of water. It helped me understand the difference between taking my time to feel in control in the water and not forcing myself to get over my fear and it also helped me to share this with my swim instructor.

I bought a copy for a friend that loves to swim but fears the deep waters. I browsed the book and got copy for myself to learn how to be more confident in the water. I wish I had came across this method years ago.

Release the natural born swimmer in yourself!

I recently took a course through the Orca Swim school in the Seattle area. They utilize Melon Dash's methods in their instruction. A little bit about my swimming history, I had an accident in a swimming pool when I was in high school and nearly drowned. I was not afraid of water before that, but since then I've a huge fear of water and just the smell of chlorine will make me relive my high school incident. I was quite skeptical of the methods outlined in this book, but was willing to give it a try. I have gone to conventional swimming classes and they didn't work for me. It was very important to me to learn how to swim because I now have a baby girl and I did not want to pass on my fear of the water to her. Melon emphasizes going slow and being very gentle with yourself. If you let yourself go slow and treat yourself with gentleness, you will find that swimming will come naturally and without thought. A whole new world has been opened to me. Get this book and find instructors who have been trained with this methodoligy. I now have absolute comfort in the water, both the shallow and the deep end. I'm so thankful to Melon (and Orca Swim School) for showing me how much FUN the water is. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

A thorough discussion on the thermodynamic aspects yields an in-depth understanding of the Pourbaix diagrams, while the kinetic discussions go well beyond Faraday's Law. Chapters dedicated to specific industries (aviation, automotive, food processing, and building construction) provide additional insight into practical corrosion issues. Despite the highly-theoretical treatment of most corrosion mechanisms, cathodic protection methods are not given adequate coverage for problem solving.

Wonderful Book

This book is a must for anyone who is interested in integration. McMinn offers practical, helpful and sincere concepts that an experienced and novice counselor can implement in any counseling setting. Most importantly, this book affirms the importance of the therapeutic relationship emphasizing humility and empathy, which are genuinely an overflow from the counselor's own walk with God. A must read.

Masterful Synthesis

Anyone doing counseling or therapy in a Christian context would do well to peruse this remarkable work. In an evolving field rife with controversy, the author presents a calm, reasoned, and inclusive overview of Christian therapeutics. While the basic orientation is to cognitive therapy, psychodynamic principles are not slighted. Subjects such as praying with (or for) the client, the use of Scripture, confession, forgiveness and redemption are all explored. Needless to say, it's not light reading, but it is accessible and understandable. The author presents different theories and points of view, treats all of them with respect, and offers a way for clinicians to think through and reason about clinical dilemmas.

Author Mark McMinn uses a delightful method of presenting brief clinical vignettes, with different possible approaches, different therapists, and different assumptions, and invites the reader to reason through each situation. There are, of course, no simple answers, but there are pitfalls to be avoided and lessons to be learned. The writing style is clear and lucid, with a gentle touch of humor. Ethical issues are discussed in depth. Beyond the techniques and vignettes, Author McMinn explores the foundations of Christian counseling, the underlying theology that must support any therapeutic efforts. The approach is not a bag of tricks. The vital ingredient must be the spiritual growth of the counselor/therapist.

This reviewer, now retired, would love to have had McMinn's book in hand when he was treating patients. For anyone doing Christian counseling now, I cannot recommend this book too highly. Reviewed by Louis N. Gruber.

Spectacular photography

This is a perfect gift for a maniacal fly fisherman, the kind of guy that checks out the spiderwebs by the side of the creek to see what bugs have been hatching. The photographs of the various mayflies in different stages of their life cycles are absolutely, jaw-dropping spectacular. The accompanying text is mercifully light on the Latin taxonomy, but contains just the right amount of natural history. As a plus, some examples of flies imitating nymphs, duns and spinners are included at the end of each chapter, along with material info. Of course, they're well photographed, too. A few tips about fishing the hatches and spinner falls are tossed in as well. OK, so if you know what I'm talking about, you want this book. One caveat - the author lives in PA, so it's mostly about Eastern mayflies.

I purchased this book by Ted Fauceglia with the anticipation that his fine works were fully exemplified in this publication.
This book is an exceptional sample of Ted's work and I am immeasurably impressed by it. For the fly fisherman and fly tier this is a "must have" book, if not only to admire the beautiful insect images. The value in this book is not only the excellent images, but equqally the insect descriptions and distribution, along with the great fly patterns.
Don't hesitate to buy it, it is great value and a work of art.

Enjoy bugs anytime

The information in this book is well written and useful but what I truly enjoy are the photographs. They are excellent. Absolutely excellent. And the quality of the the print (Italy I think) is top shelf. Now, if you are a fly tier who would like a better look at the little bugs we try to imitate that will make this book even better. I am trying new ideas on old fly patterns jut to see if I can bring them a little closer to the real thing. Tight Lines
